Fundamentals of Corrosion for Engineers

The Materials Engineering Association (MEA), in collaboration with the Institute of Corrosion (ICorr) of the United Kingdom, is pleased to invite all professionals interested in the field of materials engineering to attend a scientific training course titled “Fundamentals of Corrosion for Engineers”, which will be held from November 01st to 05th, 2026, in Khobar, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia.

This course will provide a comprehensive introduction to key aspects of corrosion engineering, featuring practical examples and applications aimed at preventing and reducing corrosion across various industrial sectors, including oil and gas, petrochemicals, and other industrial applications. The course is ideal for engineers, inspectors, designers, and professionals seeking to strengthen their corrosion knowledge and advance their careers. Attendees receive a Certificate of Attendance, with the option to earn a Certificate of Achievement by passing the final exam – recognized as meeting the corrosion training requirement for Professional Membership of the Institute of Corrosion (MICorr) with the Institute of Corrosion, and supporting progression toward Chartered Engineer status.

The course is delivered by Dr. Jane Lomas, a consultant corrosion engineer with over 40 years of multi-industry experience, Fellow of the Institute of Corrosion, and member of its governing Council.

يسرّ جمعية هندسة المواد (MEA)، بالتعاون مع معهد التآكل (ICorr) في المملكة المتحدة، دعوة جميع المهتمين والمتخصصين في مجال هندسة المواد لحضور الدورة التدريبية العلمية بعنوان: “أساسيات التآكل للمهندسين”، والتي ستُعقد خلال الفترة من 1 إلى 5 نوفمبر 2026 في مدينة الخبر، المنطقة الشرقية، المملكة العربية السعودية.

ستقدّم هذه الدورة مقدمة شاملة لأهم جوانب هندسة التآكل، مع التركيز على أمثلة وتطبيقات عملية تهدف إلى منع التآكل وتقليله في مختلف القطاعات الصناعية، بما في ذلك النفط والغاز والبتروكيماويات وغيرها من التطبيقات الصناعية. وتُعدّ الدورة مناسبة للمهندسين والمفتشين والمصممين وجميع المهنيين الراغبين في تعزيز معرفتهم بالتآكل وتطوير مسارهم المهني.

يحصل المشاركون على شهادة حضور، مع إمكانية الحصول على شهادة إنجاز عند اجتياز الاختبار النهائي — وهي شهادة معترف بها باعتبارها مستوفية لمتطلبات التدريب في مجال التآكل للحصول على العضوية المهنية في معهد التآكل (MICorr)، كما تدعم التقدّم نحو الحصول على لقب مهندس معتمد (Chartered Engineer).

تُقدَّم الدورة من قبل الدكتورة جين لوماس، وهي مهندسة استشارية متخصصة في التآكل تتمتع بخبرة تمتد لأكثر من 40 عامًا في صناعات متعددة، وزميلة في معهد التآكل وعضو في مجلسه الإداري.
